The Port of Virginia is one of the Commonwealth’s greatest economic engines, supporting businesses both large and small all across Virginia.  While recent economic events have posed new challenges, the port is projected to undergo tremendous growth over the next decade.  To make this growth a reality, however, Virginia must compete to attract new businesses looking to locate or expand and create jobs.
The General Assembly will be considering Amendment 88 that will create the Port of Virginia Economic and Infrastructure Development Zone to provide qualified companies choosing to create jobs inside of the zone with a one-time grant that will help increase the incentive for companies to come to Virginia.
During these economic times, it is important that Virginia invest in this program that will attract new companies and much needed jobs in our Commonwealth.
